CHARACTER AGE: 29
BACKGROUND & HISTORY: Jason has been taking care of himself since the age of ten. He was born in Alaska to a proud family of witches and when he showed zero magical abilities, his parents gave him up for adoption. He lived with a foster family until he ran away when he was fourteen. At sixteen, he started working in construction, taking odd-jobs around town with anyone who would hire him. He quickly learned how to be a jack-of-all-trades and kept his belly filled by becoming a temporary handyman for anyone who needed one. For several years, Jason lived on a fishing vessel where he caught and sold king crab on the Bering Sea.
Living in foster care and on the streets meant Jason had to quickly learn to take care of himself in more ways than one. He became a fighter--muggings were commonplace on the streets and he had to protect what little he had to his name. He soon realized he enjoyed fighting; it was a great stress relief, and it felt amazing to hand someone's ass to them when they thought they were better than the world. Over the years, he befriended the owner of a training gym who let him come in at night and practice boxing. He enjoyed it so much that he joined in on underground fight--they paid well when he won, and he won a lot. Recently though, the underground fights were busted by the local police and Jason had to run away again.
He's shown up in Siren Cove by accident alone. The past six months he's been living day by day from place to place and, quite honestly, he's exhausted. Figuring it's as good a place as any, Jason decides to settle in Siren Cove temporarily, just to save up money before he's off again.
PERSONALITY: Jason is generally quiet, preferring to get his work done, get his money, and go off to get food. He has a distinct idea of what's right and wrong, quickly standing up to anything he thinks is wrong or out of the line. He also has a tendency to get into fights defending others. He has no problem taking a punch if it means he gets to call someone out on their bullshit.
Because of the way his family gave him up, Jason is very aware of prejudices and doesn't respond well to them. He hasn't talked to his family since they abandoned him and he has no plans on reconnecting with them as long as he's alive.
OPINION OF THE RIVALRY: Once he learns about it, he'll think it's dumb.
LIFESTYLE: Jason is a handy-man at best. He'll take any job around town he can to make some cash. He has knowledge of all things construction and is also able to run a fishing boat. He's taken a job fishing anything and everything where he'll spend ten hour days doing back-breaking work.
He doesn't have a place to live, meaning he's currently taken up residence on a bench at the docks--fingers crossed the cops don't catch him. He also has a golden retriever named Alfredo. Almost two years ago, the starving dog found Jason sleeping in an alley and seemed to have adopted the man at first sight. They've been inseparable ever since. Alfredo hangs out on the docks anytime Jason is at work on the boat.
HUMAN, WITCH, OR SIREN: Witch. With zero powers or knowledge of how to perform witchcraft. Jason is aware it exists, of course, and picked up knowledge of spells and curses while living with his family. He just can't do any of it.
