 After the rescue boats arrived, Iris and Jason, along with every other survivor rescued from the island, were taken to SC Memorial. It was only after he saw Iris fall asleep from the medication that Jason allowed himself to be taken away by doctors. They took x-rays to make sure the cut hadn't gone too deep and damaged anything more than just his skin. Satisfied his stitches were well done and all he needed was rest, the doctors gave Jason a bed and knocked him out for the evening. Once he woke up, they re-wrapped his bandages and released Jason. 

He's been awake for about an hour now, waiting outside Iris' room as the doctors do their final checks before they're willing to release her. He's nervous, drumming his fingers against the frame of the hospital door. He just wants Iris to walk out of that room, cast on her foot, and pain free. He just wants to get her home, because she needs to be home.

A squeak of a gasp is all she manages to get out, rolling back over and covering up her chest as she blushes. It doesn't matter what he's seen and what they've done already, she's still a little self-conscious. "You're bad!"

Jason laughs because it's really cute how she's still a bit shy around him. "Iris, I check you out all the time, sorry."

Iris can't help but giggle at that, tugging the blankets over herself again. "Nooo... You're a lot better at hiding it than I am, I guess."

"Maybe you're too busy checking me out to notice I'm checking you out?" he suggests, rolling over to wrap his arms around her again.

The warmth of his body envelopes her and she can't stop the soft sigh that slips out. He's so warm, and safe, and all she wants to do right now is lay in his arms forever. "Maybe... I do it a lot," she admits, slipping her own arms around his waist and nuzzling his shoulder.

"I'm glad we're mutually ogling each other then," he grins. She's comfortable and warm, and Jason kisses the top of her head, feeling the exhaustion of the day finally catch up. "We should sleep. We both need to catch up on our rest."

Iris tilts her head up, stealing a quick kiss before burrowing against him, twining her legs through his until she's totally entangled in him. "All right," she yawns. "Good night, Jason."

"Goodnight, Iris." He almost says something else, but instead, leans his head back against the pillow, almost immediately falling asleep. Knowing that Iris is safe and by his side, Jason's finally able to get a good night's sleep.

It takes her a little longer to actually drift off, but the soft whisper of his breath and his heart beat against her ear lulls her into a calming sense of security and she's asleep within minutes.

When he wakes up, Jason finds himself untangled from Iris, but an arm wrapped around her, tingling. He's not sure what time it is, daylight peaking in through the curtains of her windows, and Jason rubs his eyes before looking over at Iris.

She's still asleep and he smiles. Trying not to wake her, Jason gets carefully gets out of bed, wincing when the springs creek. He gets to the bedroom door, looking back to make sure she's still asleep before slipping out of the room.

It's a good fifteen minutes later before Iris hauls herself awake, and the distinct absence of Jason's weight and warmth next to her makes her panic. She's up, balancing on her good foot as she hauls a dressing gown on and hobbles out of the room, leaning on the door.

"Jason?" she calls into the apartment, a tiny bit worried that he's gone.

"Yeah?" Jason appears in view from the kitchen, a questioning expression. "Why are you out of bed?"

He already knows the answer, but he doesn't want Iris to see what he's doing.

"You were gone... I got worried," she admits, frowning at her own silliness. She shouldn't let her aunt's stories about feckless men who get you into bed then disappear get to her. She knows Jason isn't like that. "Is everything okay?"

He steps forward, blocking the entrance to the kitchen. "Everything's okay, yeah."

Jason moves toward Iris, leaning down to kiss her. "How'd you sleep?"

She smiles, stomach flipping over his kiss. "Good. Really good. How about you? I wasn't too annoying, was I?" she asks, kind of curious about what he's doing but pushing it away as she kisses him back.

"Annoying? No, not at all. I slept like a baby." His smile broadens a bit as he remembers last night. "You should get off that foot, maybe go back to bed," he suggests.

"Good. I move a lot when I'm tired, so I wasn't sure," she smiles, leaning against the door frame.

"Mmm... Yeah, that's probably for the best. Are you going to come back with me?"

"If you moved, I didn't notice. I sleep like a long when I'm in a bed." He moves to lean with her so she won't see into the kitchen.

"I am. After I finish something."

"Alright..." she says warily, squinting at him as she turns and hobbles back into the bedroom. "Don't take too long. The bed feels weird without you there."

He sighs with relief when she leaves, and once she's out of sight, he gets back to work in the kitchen.

"No worries. I won't be too long." Jason quickly places food down for Eric and Alfredo before he scrapes a pan's contents onto a plate. He grabs a few things from the fridge before meeting Iris back in the bedroom.

"I made you breakfast," he shrugs.

Iris is curled up with a book when he comes back, the smell of food preceding him. She sits up with a gasp, eyes going wide as she takes him in. "Nooo! You didn't have to do that!" she scolds him, even as her stomach clenches with happiness. "What did you make??"

"I didn't have to," he agrees, moving to sit on the edge of the bed and handing her the plate. "But I wanted to so you'll have to deal with it. Bacon and eggs. I don't know how to cook much, but I can cook bacon and eggs. Oh, and toast," he grins, holding up a piece of cinnamon toast.

She takes the plate from him before arching up and kissing him, hard pressed not to grin against his lips. "You are... I just..." Iris sighs happily, shaking her head and taking a bite of the eggs. A tiny moan of happiness slips out. "These are amazing. You are amazing."

Jason kisses her back, lifting his legs up onto the bed and lying down close to Iris. He beams when she says the eggs are amazing, happy to make her smile.

"I just wanted to give back to you as much as I can."

"Stop that," she tuts, around a mouthful of cinnamon toast. She reaches over and pinches his nose. "You have nothing you have to give back for, silly."
