You got that James Dean day dream look in your eye {Iris}

 Jason had promised to take Iris out on a date one day. And now that everything seemed to be getting back to normal in town, they agreed that tonight would be the night. With a half day of work put in at the shop, Jason headed back to the apartment for a shower and a change of clothes when he saw his reflection in the mirror and realized just how much he'd let himself go. So with Alfredo by his side, he made his way to a hair shop nearby. The ladies there were very nice and trimmed his hair and beard a bit. They even asked permission to style his hair differently, and figuring, hell, he should look a little put together, he agreed. 

He left the salon feeling like a new man and, very painstakingly, sent Iris a text to let her know that he'd meet her at the apartment. After running one more errand, he heads back to their home.

"Hmm...that's not a bad idea." He plays with the ends of her hair, thinking over how much time and work one would take before he chuckles. "You first fed me there."

Iris practically melts at the feeling of his fingers gently tugging at her hair. "Mmmm, I did. Who would've guessed we'd end up falling in love and moving in together within the next couple months?"

"Life's really changed for us." He keeps fiddling with her hair almost absently. "I mean, your cooking is still amazing."

Iris slowly sinks deeper and deeper into a state of bliss, letting out a soft little sigh. "Well, that's good. But its all changed for the positive, right? You're happy here? ...With me?"

"Yeah," he says lazily, moving his arm to look at her. "I'm happier than I've ever been before. Promise."

"Good," she sighs, twining her fingers through his and pressing a kiss to the back of his hand. "I hope you get happier and happier and that I can be a source of happiness for you. I love you so much, you know."

"I know, baby." He smiles softly at her and leans over to kiss her dimple. "I love you too. And I hope I can just help you feel happy and safe. That's all I want."

She blushes happily at that, burrowing as close to him as she can. "Nothing in this world makes me feel safer than being around you," Iris tells him. "I feel like I can handle anything as long as I've got you with me."

"Good. I'm glad to hear that." Jason nuzzles the top of her head, enjoying how perfectly she curls up against him. "I can't imagine life without you now, Iris."

She shuts her eyes, resting her forehead against his shoulder and enjoying his presence. "If its up to me, you'll never have to," she murmurs. "I don't intend on ever not being there for you, Jason."

That brings a satisfied smile to his face. He loves Iris and he wants to be with her as long as she'll let him. To know she feels the same is ridiculously comforting and he settles back against the pillows, closing his eyes. "I love you."

Pressing a soft kiss to the bottom of his chin, Iris snuggles down into the blankets and slowly drifts off, murmuring a quiet 'I love you too' as she does.
