Wright Reunion [Pre-dated to Dec. 1st/Iris]

They've spent the whole morning cleaning the apartment and getting everything ready because today's a pretty special day for both Jason and Iris. His brother John is coming to visit again. And this time, he's bringing his wife and Jason's baby nephew. To say they're both nervous is a massive understatement. Jason's spent the past few days running errands for Iris, picking up food, ingredients, and baby supplies while Iris has worked on baby-proofing the whole apartment, something that's thrown Alfredo and Eric into a tizzy. It's been a bit of a chaos but more of an excited one. Jason can't wait to meet his namesake and he definitely can't wait to meet the woman crazy enough to marry his little brother.

After another round at the grocery store, Jason heads back to the apartment, lugging a ridiculous amount of bags with him as Alfredo jogs happily by his side. He took the dog this time, mostly to get him out of Iris' hair for a few, but also because he wanted to work out some of Alfredo's energy before a baby turns his would upside down. Racing Alfredo up the stairs of the complex, Jason balances the bags on one arm and lets himself into their home, closing the door behind him as Alfredo pants and makes his way to the water bowl.

"I'm back," he says by way of greeting as he carries the bags into the kitchen. There's no telling where Iris has gotten to or what project she's taken up in preparation for the visit.

"Hmmm... As long as you don't eat his snacks, I suppose I can let you keep yours," she grins, kissing his chin. "But only if you keep to your snack pile or else it won't be fair."

"I can do that," he nods. Jason opens the fridge again, setting out some fruits. "Anything you wanna see at the zoo? Got a favourite animal?"

"Mmmm... I wanna see a giraffe. Is that weird? They're just so tall and gangly and cute," she laughs, setting the double boiler on the stove to start melting the chocolate. "I'd like to see a tiger too. How about you?"

Jason starts cutting up a banana, dropping the small pieces into a bowl for Iris. "Giraffe, huh? No, that'd be pretty cool to see." He pauses chopping and thinks. "I wanna see...elephants. And a cheetah."

Iris snags a piece of banana, popping it into her mouth as she stirs the chocolate. "Ohhh... I hope they have a cheetah! They're so pretty," she sighs, starting to dip the banana pieces into the melted chocolate. "I wonder what Keaton will want to see..."

"Probably everything," he laughs. Jason pulls several tupperware containers out of the cabinet and sets them out for Iris to fill as she finishes the snacks. He starts to say something when there's a knock at the door and Jason kisses her cheek before answering it.

"Hey!" Felicity beams as she steps through. John enters after her, Keaton resting against his shoulder. "We brought you guys a bunch of things he'll need to," she says as Jason takes Keaton from John. Felicity sets several bags on the table. "I probably way overpacked, but I didn't want you guys to have to buy anything, so I just brought all his stuff with us. We even brought his stroller."

Iris pokes her head out of the kitchen when she hears Felicity's voice and waves. "Be out in a sec!" Finishing packing up the snacks, she comes out and grins at Keaton, leaning up to kiss his little cheek.

"You guys are so thoughtful... You didn't need to bring all of this! We've got stuff here for him already," she tuts, shaking her head but smiling at the thoughtfulness of it. "We're going to take him out to the zoo in a bit, we think. So the stroller will help there."

"You guys are already doing so much for us, I just wanted to make everything as easy as possible," she explains. It's the first time besides a few hours of babysitting that they've left Keaton with someone else, and while Felicity trusts Jason and Iris to have no problem with him, she still doesn't want to burden them.

Jason bounces Keaton in his arms, leaning in to kiss his cheek. When he does, Keaton giggles and reaches up to grab his beard. "Iris made him snacks and everything. We'll have a blast."

"It'll all be great," she assures the parents, the smile she gives Jason absolutely brimming with love. "When do you expect to be back?"

"Tomorrow afternoon at the latest. I wrote down his feeding and sleeping schedule and put it in here." Felicity gives Iris his baby bag, opening it up and showing her where everything they'll need has been tucked away into it. "This should get you through the night. And if he gets fussy, just rub his head gently. He likes that."

After several hugs and kisses, John and Felicity finally say their goodbyes and head out to the lodge. After Jason closes the door, he turns to Iris, Keaton still in his arms. "We can steal him now!" he grins.

"Just like his uncle," Iris laughs, giving Jason a teasing grin. "Enjoy yourselves, okay? And don't fret. We'll be fine!"

The door shuts and Iris starts to bounce a little on her toes. "Yay!! Should we just pack him up now to take him to the zoo? Since he's already in 'moving around' mode, and all."

"Yeah! He's awake and ready to get his day started, right, buddy?" Keaton grins and ducks his head to hide his face against Jason's shirt. "I think he's feeling shy now that mom and dad are gone."

"Aw, buddy," Iris giggles, tickling him under his chin. "He'll warm up to us once we spend some time together, won't you?"

Smoothing back his hair, she gathers up the snacks and packs them into his diaper bag, tucking it into the stroller. "Let me get my coat and then I can strap him in while you get yours, okay?"

"Alright." Jason plays with Keaton for a bit as Iris prepares for their zoo trip. Once everything is packed and she has her coat on, he hands Keaton to her and hauls his on.

"Think Keaton will be warm enough? Should we bring that blanket you got him?"

"Mmm... Probably a good idea," she agrees, scampering back into the bedroom and getting it. Iris folds it up and tucks it down with the diaper bag. "We'll see how he handles the cold and if he seems to be chilly, we can tuck it around him, yeah?"

"That works. If you can carry Keaton, I'll carry his stroller downstairs and we can strap him in when we're in the lobby."

'Yes please!!" she chirps, holding out her hands and wriggling her fingers excitedly. "I've been dying to hold him since he got here, you know."

"I know! Which is why I grabbed him when he first got here. Because I'm pretty sure once he's in your hands, I'll never hold him again," he laughs. Jason moves close to her and unlatches Keaton, holding him out to her. "Go to aunt Iris, little guy."

Iris scoops him up, burying her nose against his cheek as she kisses him. "What a sweetie," she coos, bouncing him on her hip before looking up at Jason. "Ready when you are."

Jason takes a moment to look the pair over. They're adorable together and he's glad to have Iris around to help him with Keaton. Grabbing the stroller and diaper bag, he opens the door, ushering Iris through, and locks up.

When they reach the bottom of the stairs, he kneels down and sets up the stroller, making sure everything's sturdy before he looks up at Iris. "Alright, all ready for him."

Iris pouts at him, cuddling Keaton closer to her playfully. "Maybe I don't wanna put him down yet. Maybe I'll never put him down."

"Your arms are gonna get pretty tired." Jason nods at the stroller. "Now come on. Put the baby in the stroller and no one gets hurt."

Iris pouts but reluctantly kisses the side of Keaton's head before strapping him into the stroller. "You're such a meanie," she jokes as she straightens up. "Not letting me cuddle the baby. I guess we should go now though... Before the zoo closes."

"I know, I know. I'm the worst." He tucks Keaton's diaper bag into a cubby in the stroller before holding the door of the building open for Iris to push the stroller out. "You can cuddle the baby while we're looking at koalas and all that. Deal?"

Iris tuts, shaking her head playfully as she pushes the stroller out the door. "I guess I can accept that," she concedes, waiting for him to catch up before they head towards the zoo, Keaton babbling happily in the stroller. "Think he'll make it through the whole trip without crying?"
