"Hopefully," she smiles, getting up and kissing his forehead before grabbing their plates. "Until then, I'll keep being a worrywart. Thank goodness for you and Lara being there to help."

"Someone's gotta be the worrywart, right?" Jason moves to the couch so he can play with Alfredo, rubbing behind the dog's ears. "You have any plans today?"

Iris shrugs, moving into the kitchen and filling the sink. "Not really. I need to get a shower and put together some stuff for work tomorrow, but that's it. You?"

He tosses a squeaky toy and Alfredo rushes after it. "I thought I might check out the rec center Eli told me about."

"Oh?" she asks curiously, glancing back at him as she finishes the dishes. "What are you gonna do there?"

Jason looks up at her and smiles. "Remember I used to box?"

"Oh!! Are you going to box there? Can I come?" she asks, practically bouncing with excitement.

"I hope to. Eli said they have everything there." He laughs and gets up from the couch, moving to her side. "If you want to come along, you certainly can."

"Oh good," she grins, leaning up to kiss his cheek, hands still full of bubbles as she finishes the last dish. "I'm not very... athletically inclined myself but I like watching you do things that you enjoy."

"Sounds good to me. But I might be awful, just a warning. I'm a bit rusty," he chuckles. "Get your shower, do what you need to, then we can head out there?"

"Not like I'd know the difference," Iris points out, putting away the dishes before pressing a quick kiss to his lips. "Okay. Shower now. I'll go fast!"

And with that she's gone, flitting off into the bathroom and taking one of the fastest showers she's ever had. She's out within ten minutes, darting to her bedroom in just a towel with a call of "Just let me dry my hair and get dressed and I'll be ready!" Then she's out again, hair... mostly dry and tossed into a bun and the rest of her fully dressed.

"Let's go!!" she chirps, grinning broadly.

Everything happens quicker than he realizes, but thankfully, Jason only needed to pack up his bag with a few things for the gym. Before he knows it, Iris is changed and extremely happy to go.

"Alright," he grins at her, leaning down to put a leash on Alfredo. "Can we drop him off at the garden? I think he needs some outdoor time and he can play while we're at the gym."

"Of course. I'll drop Eric off in the back gardens when we leave as well," she smiles, whistling for the little goat. He's at her ankles in a few seconds and she grabs her purse, picking him up and tucking him under her arm. "Ready?"

Alfredo barks, rushing to the door. "I think we're ready," he smiles. Jason opens the door, making sure everyone gets out before he closes it and waits for Iris to lock up.

It's not long after they've dropped off Eric and Alfredo that they reach the rec center. It's...much fancier than he's used to and Jason's a little bit intimidated by the gym, but a quick tour from the helpful staff and soon they arrive in the boxing area. Jason tosses his bag over his shoulder, turning back to Iris. He's instantly at ease now, in the familiar territory of a boxing arena.

"I'm gonna go change in the locker rooms. I won't be but five minutes, promise."

"'Kay..." Iris replies, gawking around at the gym. She didn't realize exactly how uncomfortable she'd be here, and she's getting looks from some of the patrons that make her clutch her purse to her chest. Finding herself a little stool, she drags it to the other side of the ring, hiding herself behind it and worrying her lip between her teeth while she waits.

When Jason returns, his hands are wrapped and he's wearing a pair of black sweatpants. He finds Iris perched on a stool and instantly knows she's nervous. He would be too, in an environment like this, if it wasn't for the fact that he's comfortable in this part of the gym.

He smiles at her and sets his bag by her feet, pulling on a pair of boxing gloves. "Hey, you okay?"

Iris smiles up at him when he comes back, nodding. "I was just nervous without you out here," she admits, releasing her deathgrip on her purse. "But you're here now, so I'm fine. Be careful, okay?"

"Good." He reaches up, brushing his hair back with his fingers and tying it up to keep it out of his face before he leans down to kiss her cheek. Turning away, Jason goes to the bag first where he warms up. His muscles feel stiff. Even though he's pretty much spent his work out sessions on boats since he stopped fighting, boxing works different muscles that suddenly burn in a way he hasn't felt in years. Jason reacts to that burning sensation by pushing himself, enjoying the way he starts to relax as he gets back into the swing of things.

He's not sure how long he spends boxing, moving from the bag to one of the trainers, but eventually Jason's worn out and the trainer suggests he takes a break. "Don't wanna push yourself too much. You have to ease yourself back into it." It's good advice and he doesn't want to be too sore tomorrow. He can't believe he gave this up, even if he's breathing hard and he knows he's sweaty. This is what relaxed him as a kid and kept him from getting into too much trouble. This is what helped focus him.

Jason thanks the trainer, agreeing to come back next week, and walks back over to where he left Iris.

By the time he's done, Iris is more than a little overwhelmed. Watching his muscles flex beneath his skin and seeing the determination on his face is more than a little... well, hot to her. He finishes his workout and she realizes that she's breathing like she'd been the one up there and quickly corrects it as he heads over.

Standing up, she bites her lip as he comes closer. The fine sheen of sweat on his skin is just making everything look even more defined and oh, this is not good. Jason finally reaches her and she's on her feet, leaning up on her toes to press a kiss against his cheek and taking the opportunity to sharply whisper "We need to go home. Now." in his ear.

He's happy with himself and the workout and even happier to see Iris waiting for him. Jason's glad she came along because he honestly felt more comfortable with her nearby. But then she quickly whispers in his ear and he's filled with concern.

"What's wrong? Did something happen?"

She's trying not to dance with impatience. "Nothing's wrong. Far from it. We just really need to get home," Iris insists, giving him a rather forced smile.

"Okay..." He looks at her curiously because she's acting...different than usual. "Do I have time to get dressed?"

"I'm going to say no. I mean, if you really need to..." Iris replies, chewing on her lip. She's desperate to get him home now but is still much too uncomfortable to explain why and he is making things very difficult right now. Especially since he's still shirtless and glistening.

"Alright, alright." Jason trusts Iris and figures if they need to leave, they need to leave now. He grabs his bag and holds out hand for her before heading out of the gym, just hoping it's nothing bad. The fact that she won't tell him why they need to get home is making him nervous.

Iris grabs the offered hand, clinging to it like its a life line. Leaving the gym, she marches them home at a rather hasty pace, practically running. The trip seems to take forever but they're finally back at the apartment.

She lets them in and locks the door before letting out a sigh of relief. Then she's on him, pushing him back against the door and kissing him hard, letting all the pent up frustration and need out in her kiss.
