Wright Reunion [Pre-dated to Dec. 1st/Iris]

They've spent the whole morning cleaning the apartment and getting everything ready because today's a pretty special day for both Jason and Iris. His brother John is coming to visit again. And this time, he's bringing his wife and Jason's baby nephew. To say they're both nervous is a massive understatement. Jason's spent the past few days running errands for Iris, picking up food, ingredients, and baby supplies while Iris has worked on baby-proofing the whole apartment, something that's thrown Alfredo and Eric into a tizzy. It's been a bit of a chaos but more of an excited one. Jason can't wait to meet his namesake and he definitely can't wait to meet the woman crazy enough to marry his little brother.

After another round at the grocery store, Jason heads back to the apartment, lugging a ridiculous amount of bags with him as Alfredo jogs happily by his side. He took the dog this time, mostly to get him out of Iris' hair for a few, but also because he wanted to work out some of Alfredo's energy before a baby turns his would upside down. Racing Alfredo up the stairs of the complex, Jason balances the bags on one arm and lets himself into their home, closing the door behind him as Alfredo pants and makes his way to the water bowl.

"I'm back," he says by way of greeting as he carries the bags into the kitchen. There's no telling where Iris has gotten to or what project she's taken up in preparation for the visit.

"Don't you dare, Jason," she calls back, voice muffled by the hood and pillows.

"Well....now I think I have to....Alfredoooo," he looks down and Alfredo perks up, wagging his tail. "Where's Iris? Where is she, boy?"

"Jason, noooo!" she whines, curling further into a ball. "Its too early for dog slobber!"

[jasonwright]

"It is not that early." He tosses Alfredo a treat so he'll stay put then flips the pancakes. "Breakfast will be ready any minute."

[littleredsiren]

"Its stupid o'clock," Iris protests. "The sun isn't even up yet. Why are you so awake?"

[jasonwright]

Jason fills two plates with pancakes and sets them on the table before he goes to the fridge to grab the syrup. "I get up at 3am usually, remember?"

[littleredsiren]

"You should stop doing that. That's gross. 3am is still night time," she grumbles, finally peeling herself off of the couch and shuffling over to the table, hoodie wrapped firmly around her.

"I gotta work, babe. Boat leaves at four." Jason sets Iris' favourite mug in the coffee maker before bringing it over to the table. He sets the cup in front of her and sits down. "Here, you need that."

"Oh my god I love you," she groans, clutching the coffee to her chest for a moment before sipping at it. "So good coffee... So good."

Jason rolls his eyes teasingly at her before he digs into his pancakes. "Remind me to never wake you up early."

[littleredsiren]

"Too late for that," she points out, sticking her tongue out at him before starting on her own breakfast. "We need to make a list of what needs to get done before Keaton gets here... Cleaning up a bit, making sure the baby proofing is still all good... Setting up the cot for him in our room, um..."

He takes a break from his pancakes to look around then grabs a notepad and pen from the counter, setting them down for Iris. "I'm sure Felicity and John will bring us food, diapers, and all that. But maybe think of what we want to do while we have him?"

She gives him a little grin in thanks and tugs the stationary towards her, scribbling down what they need to do. "What about the zoo? I haven't been there yet and my niece always loved going. Seeing all the animals," Iris suggests, taking another huge bite of pancakes.

"Zoo sounds fun. I"ve never been to one in general." Jason thinks, twirling his fork between his fingers. "Do they have strollers? Or think we'll be fine just carrying him?"

"They usually have strollers you can rent for the day. Our arms would be dead by the time we got home if we carry him everywhere," she points out with a laugh.

[jasonwright]

"Good," he chuckles. "Because I was gonna nix lugging him around all day." Jason finishes his plate and pushes it aside. "So food, zoo, naps, and diaper changes. That the plan for the day?"

Iris glances over at his plate, shaking her head as she works on hers, only half of it gone now. "That sounds like a brilliant plan," she smiles. "Maybe I can pick him up a little souvenir at the gift shop..."

"Get him everything. I plan to spoil this kid." Jason gets up from the table to wash his plate before he sets out food for Alfredo and Eric while Iris finishes eating. He checks his phone, opening a message from John. "They'll drop off Keaton in about an hour."

"Oh good, our plans are aligned then," she chuckles, finishing off her breakfast before washing up. "All right. That gives us plenty of time to get ready then. Do you think they'll feed him before bringing him over or should I get a snack ready for him?"

"They'll probably feed him, I'd guess." Jason heads into the bedroom to change into his clothes for the day before he comes back, Kissing Iris on the temple. "We should make snacks for the zoo though, right?"

She accepts the kiss with a goofy little grin and nods. "Definitely. Ask them what his favourite snacks are while I go clean up?" Iris asks, learning up and kissing him proper. "I don't want to feed him anything he'll reject, you know..."

"Got it." Jason returns her kiss, patting her on the back as she leaves the kitchen before turning his attention to the fridge. He types up a text to John as he opens the fridge, looking at what they have and maybe finding a snack for himself.

"He loves avocado, chocolate over banana slices, pineapple, and yogurt," Jason calls through the apartment as he reads John's reply. "And crackers. ...I think he's gonna like whatever you feed him, hon."

She changes quickly, putting on some light makeup and heading back to the kitchen, tugging her hair into a ponytail as she goes. "I think we have the stuff to make chocolate banana slices... And we definitely have yogurt and crackers. I'll make a bit of each," she decides, coming up behind him and wrapping her arms around his waist, cheek pressed against his back. "Anything in particular you want for a snack?"

"That should be plenty for him then." He smiles broadly when Iris wraps herself around him. "I want so many snacks, Iris," he pouts before turning around to face her. "Promise you won't give my snacks to the really cute baby?"

"Hmmm... As long as you don't eat his snacks, I suppose I can let you keep yours," she grins, kissing his chin. "But only if you keep to your snack pile or else it won't be fair."
