Wright Reunion [Pre-dated to Dec. 1st/Iris]

They've spent the whole morning cleaning the apartment and getting everything ready because today's a pretty special day for both Jason and Iris. His brother John is coming to visit again. And this time, he's bringing his wife and Jason's baby nephew. To say they're both nervous is a massive understatement. Jason's spent the past few days running errands for Iris, picking up food, ingredients, and baby supplies while Iris has worked on baby-proofing the whole apartment, something that's thrown Alfredo and Eric into a tizzy. It's been a bit of a chaos but more of an excited one. Jason can't wait to meet his namesake and he definitely can't wait to meet the woman crazy enough to marry his little brother.

After another round at the grocery store, Jason heads back to the apartment, lugging a ridiculous amount of bags with him as Alfredo jogs happily by his side. He took the dog this time, mostly to get him out of Iris' hair for a few, but also because he wanted to work out some of Alfredo's energy before a baby turns his would upside down. Racing Alfredo up the stairs of the complex, Jason balances the bags on one arm and lets himself into their home, closing the door behind him as Alfredo pants and makes his way to the water bowl.

"I'm back," he says by way of greeting as he carries the bags into the kitchen. There's no telling where Iris has gotten to or what project she's taken up in preparation for the visit.

"But I can't sleepy sleepy," he complains. Jason rolls off her, inching to press against her side. "Plus, if I let you sleep any more, you'll be mad later when you feel like you didn't have enough time to prepare for Keaton."

She reaches out blindly, tugging herself against his chest and nuzzling into it. "But its so waaaarm here..."

He really shouldn't, but Jason wraps his arms around her, his skin still warm from the shower. "It can be warm out there too."

"Mmmm... Nooo. I'm pretty sure its cold out there. Its always cold in the morning," Iris complains, arms slipping around his waist. "Plus you can't cuddle me out there."

"I can cuddle you anywhere and everywhere," he argues. Jason presses several kisses along her jaw. "I'll make you chocolate chip pancakes."

Iris lets out a soft giggle, pushing at him playfully. "All right, all right. I'll get up if you give me pancakes and cuddles," she relents with a dramatic sigh.

"Yay!" Jason sits up, tugging Iris along with him. He climbs out of bed and disappears into the closet before he returns with one of his hoodies. "Here, you can curl up with this. It's my warmest hoodie."

Looking incredibly dishevelled and still half asleep, she takes the hoodie and tugs it on before stumbling into the living room. "All right, man servant. I want my pancakes," she giggles, flopping onto the couch and curling into a ball, face pressed into the cushions.

Jason chuckles to himself as Iris curls up on the couch. He heads into the kitchen, grabbing the ingredients and pans he'll need. He can't cook all that much, but Jason loved pancakes as a kid and learned how to make them pretty damn well. "Don't you dare fall back asleep," he calls, whipping up the batter.

"'M not..." she calls back sleepily, tugging the hood over her head to block out the light. "Just resting my eyes..."

"Don't make me get Alfredo on you," he warns. Jason heats up the pan and starts making the pancakes, Alfredo at his feet.

[littleredsiren]

"Don't you dare, Jason," she calls back, voice muffled by the hood and pillows.

[jasonwright]

"Well....now I think I have to....Alfredoooo," he looks down and Alfredo perks up, wagging his tail. "Where's Iris? Where is she, boy?"

[littleredsiren]

"Jason, noooo!" she whines, curling further into a ball. "Its too early for dog slobber!"

[jasonwright]

"It is not that early." He tosses Alfredo a treat so he'll stay put then flips the pancakes. "Breakfast will be ready any minute."

[littleredsiren]

"Its stupid o'clock," Iris protests. "The sun isn't even up yet. Why are you so awake?"

[jasonwright]

Jason fills two plates with pancakes and sets them on the table before he goes to the fridge to grab the syrup. "I get up at 3am usually, remember?"

[littleredsiren]

"You should stop doing that. That's gross. 3am is still night time," she grumbles, finally peeling herself off of the couch and shuffling over to the table, hoodie wrapped firmly around her.

"I gotta work, babe. Boat leaves at four." Jason sets Iris' favourite mug in the coffee maker before bringing it over to the table. He sets the cup in front of her and sits down. "Here, you need that."

"Oh my god I love you," she groans, clutching the coffee to her chest for a moment before sipping at it. "So good coffee... So good."

Jason rolls his eyes teasingly at her before he digs into his pancakes. "Remind me to never wake you up early."

[littleredsiren]

"Too late for that," she points out, sticking her tongue out at him before starting on her own breakfast. "We need to make a list of what needs to get done before Keaton gets here... Cleaning up a bit, making sure the baby proofing is still all good... Setting up the cot for him in our room, um..."

He takes a break from his pancakes to look around then grabs a notepad and pen from the counter, setting them down for Iris. "I'm sure Felicity and John will bring us food, diapers, and all that. But maybe think of what we want to do while we have him?"

She gives him a little grin in thanks and tugs the stationary towards her, scribbling down what they need to do. "What about the zoo? I haven't been there yet and my niece always loved going. Seeing all the animals," Iris suggests, taking another huge bite of pancakes.

"Zoo sounds fun. I"ve never been to one in general." Jason thinks, twirling his fork between his fingers. "Do they have strollers? Or think we'll be fine just carrying him?"
