You got that James Dean day dream look in your eye {Iris}

 Jason had promised to take Iris out on a date one day. And now that everything seemed to be getting back to normal in town, they agreed that tonight would be the night. With a half day of work put in at the shop, Jason headed back to the apartment for a shower and a change of clothes when he saw his reflection in the mirror and realized just how much he'd let himself go. So with Alfredo by his side, he made his way to a hair shop nearby. The ladies there were very nice and trimmed his hair and beard a bit. They even asked permission to style his hair differently, and figuring, hell, he should look a little put together, he agreed. 

He left the salon feeling like a new man and, very painstakingly, sent Iris a text to let her know that he'd meet her at the apartment. After running one more errand, he heads back to their home.

"You should see the food we eat on the boat," he chuckles. "Yeah? You can have whatever dessert you want."

That coaxes another blindingly bright smile out of her and she hugs his arm, excited as a child over it. "Yay! Something chocolatey, I think..." Iris hums, losing herself in the thought of dessert. "Maybe cheesecake..."

"Chocolate swirl cheesecake?" Jason grins down at her. "You really do have a sweet tooth. I'm sure they have plenty of desserts for you."

Jason slows down when they reach the entrance of the steakhouse. Once inside, he takes Iris' jacket and they follow the waiter to a table. After pulling a seat out for her, Jason hands their jackets to the waiter and sits in the chair next to Iris. "Looks like they're pretty crowded tonight. That should be a good sign." He opens up his menu, glancing over the food.

Iris ducks her head with a grin as she sits. "Such a gentleman..." she teases, picking up her menu and looking through it, mouth watering just looking at the selection. "God... Everything looks so wonderful."

"I gotta keep up appearances," he shrugs. "But don't get spoiled, I'll go back to treating you terribly as soon as we're out of here." If Jason wasn't hungry before, he sure is now. "I want everything..." he frowns.

"I'm hungrier than I thought," Iris admits with a grimace. "Maybe... a steak and a baked potato, for me?"

He laughs a little. "Steak and baked potato sound perfect. How do you like your steaks done?" Jason hasn't had a steak since he was a kid and he's more than looking forward to one tonight.

"Um... Normally medium but... rare kind of sounds better today?" she says, lips quirking into an embarrassed little smile. "How about you?"

"Is that a bit of my monster coming out?" He raises his brows at her with a teasing smile. "I'm not sure...I haven't had steak since I was with my family. I think the chef used to make them medium-rare. I think I'll try that." He closes his menu and slides it across the table. "Did you see their dessert section?"

"I think it might be," she admits, shaking her head. "I'll have to talk to Lara about it, I think. And god, yes. I looked at that before I looked at the rest of the food."

Iris isn't ashamed to admit she has a ridiculous sweet tooth and a habit of eating sweets when she shouldn't, and more often then she should. "I'm definitely having the chocolate cheesecake, at least."

He chuckles and rests his arm on the back of her chair. "Somehow I knew you beat me to the punch on that. Chocolate cheesecake sounds pretty amazing. I think I'll try the apple pie."

And Jason fully intends on ordering another dessert to go. Because he knows Iris and how much she'd love a nice dessert waiting for her at home in the fridge after a long day at work.

"Mmm... I'm going to have to steal a bite of that," Iris giggles, grinning at him. Leaning back against his arm, she reaches her own back and plays with the neatly trimmed tips of his hair, just thinking about how lucky she must be to have him to love her.

"Oh, I'll share. Only if you're good though," he teases, enjoying the light touch of her fingers on his hair. The waiter comes by to take their order, returning quickly with drinks. Jason tastes his beer and looks impressed. "Wow, they have fancy beer."

"I'm always good," Iris protests, pouting at him. The waiter brings her a glass of rum and coke and she sips at it happily. "They're a fancy restaurant. They probably have fancy everything."

"You can't give me that face when we're in public," he argues. The waiter brings side salads and rolls of bread out for them as they wait for their steaks. Grabbing a roll and slathering a lot of butter, Jason grins. "Even fancy rolls?"

Iris pouts harder at that, looking up at him through her lashes. She doesn't even grab for a roll when they come out. "The fanciest rolls..."

Jason's a bit distracted by the food on the table and only looks at Iris again when he notices she hasn't reached for anything. And then he frowns. "Oh come on, why are you pouting at me?"

"Because you told me not to," she pouts, resting her chin on his shoulder and trying not to grin.

Jason sighs, very visibly melting at how cute Iris is. "You know I will give you anything you want when you look at me like that," he admits.

Iris grins at that, fluttering her lashes at him. "Kiss?" she suggests, looking as innocent as she can possibly be.

"You're bad," he grins. Jason leans in, giving her a soft but lingering kiss before he pulls away. "Better?"

"Much," Iris grins, inwardly sighing with happiness. There's nothing better to her than his kisses and its always fun to coax things out of him. Turning back to the table, she digs into the basket of rolls herself, biting into one with a pleased noise. "These are fancy rolls! Or, delicious ones, at least."

"I told you. And to think, you could've had them five minutes ago." Jason finishes a roll and moves onto his salad, glancing at Iris every now and then. He's still amazed that she's a huge part of his life now. "Oh, I talked to John today. He and Felicity want to come visit sometime soon."

"But pouting at you and making you flustered is more fun," Iris grins, working on her own salad.

"Oh!! Really? When?!" she squeaks, bouncing slightly in her excitement, food momentarily forgotten.

"You just like to torture me," he says as he rubs her back lightly with his free hand.

Jason nods and tries to finish his salad before he speaks, smiling at how excited Iris is. "Couple weeks from now? They have to wait until it's good to close up shop. He also said he wants to bring someone special," he adds, glancing at Iris with a grin.
