Wright Reunion [Pre-dated to Dec. 1st/Iris]

They've spent the whole morning cleaning the apartment and getting everything ready because today's a pretty special day for both Jason and Iris. His brother John is coming to visit again. And this time, he's bringing his wife and Jason's baby nephew. To say they're both nervous is a massive understatement. Jason's spent the past few days running errands for Iris, picking up food, ingredients, and baby supplies while Iris has worked on baby-proofing the whole apartment, something that's thrown Alfredo and Eric into a tizzy. It's been a bit of a chaos but more of an excited one. Jason can't wait to meet his namesake and he definitely can't wait to meet the woman crazy enough to marry his little brother.

After another round at the grocery store, Jason heads back to the apartment, lugging a ridiculous amount of bags with him as Alfredo jogs happily by his side. He took the dog this time, mostly to get him out of Iris' hair for a few, but also because he wanted to work out some of Alfredo's energy before a baby turns his would upside down. Racing Alfredo up the stairs of the complex, Jason balances the bags on one arm and lets himself into their home, closing the door behind him as Alfredo pants and makes his way to the water bowl.

"I'm back," he says by way of greeting as he carries the bags into the kitchen. There's no telling where Iris has gotten to or what project she's taken up in preparation for the visit.

"You've got your own fish-lady to keep you warm if you need it," Iris teases, kissing his cheek and following him through the store.

Once they're back at the apartment, she heads straight for the oven, pulling out the lasagne when she sees its done. "Perfect!" she chirps, then pauses, eyes going wide. "Jason! Did I forget to sweep? What if there are dust bunnies and Keaton grabs one and eats it and gets sick?!"

Jason's trying to wrangle Alfredo out of his doggy bed on the floor of the living room and to the bedroom where he'll be out of the way until they can safely introduce him to Keaton when Iris starts to panic about dust bunnies. He points at the room, giving Eric a look, and the goat happily prances into the bedroom while Jason has to physically pick up Alfredo to get him to move.

"Babe, he won't eat dust bunnies. You keep this place clean anyway, there's probably not even dust anywhere." He hauls Alfredo into the bedroom and closes the door on the boys. Returning to Iris, he cups her face and kisses her. "Plus, they'll keep Keaton where everyone can see him. It's not like he'll be crawling into cabinets."

Clenching and unclenching her fists, she takes a moment to breathe and relax into his kiss. "All right. All right. I'm calm, I think. I just remember how delicate my cousin was as a baby and I worry..." she admits, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear.

"I know," he smiles, kissing her hand. "The nerves will leave as soon as you see him, I promise. And we'll have a great dinner, a good talk with John and Felicity, and we'll play with Keaton. It'll be fun."

"All right," she says, giving him a soft smile. "I'll believe you on that."

Giving a soft sigh, Iris looks around the room. "Is there anything else we need to do? Or do you just wanna sit and wait for them?"

"Everything's ready, love. We can just sit down and relax for a bit." He leads Iris back to the couch where he falls back on the cushions, pulling her down with him. Jason wraps his arms around her, cuddling Iris to his chest, just when the buzzer sounds and Jason perks up. "Damn John's timing."

She's just about to relax against him when the buzzer rings and Iris shoots up, rolling off the couch in a flash and tugging at Jason's hands. "Come on!! They're here!" she squeaks, grinning like an idiot as she skips to the buzzer to let them in. That done, Iris hovers around the door, looking like an overexcited puppy, waiting for its people to come home.

Jason chuckles as she pulls him up off the couch. He lingers behind Iris at the door, playing with the ends of her hair a bit nervously as they wait for the knock at the door. Finally there's a soft tapping before an obnoxious one.

"Are you not letting us in because Jason ate all the food already?" John asks through the door. Jason rolls his eyes and moves to open the door. He smiles and John steps through, hugging his brother before he moves to Iris and pulls her into another hug.

"Good to see you again, Iris," he says as Jason disappears through the door to hug and then help his new sister-in-law. "And thank you for having us over for dinner tonight."

The next person to walk through the door is Felicity, a baby bag on one shoulder and Keaton on her hip. She pushes past John, a bright smile on her face. "Is this Iris? I'm Felicity, John's wife and saint of this family."

Jason follows her back into the apartment, staring at Keaton with a goofy grin. "God, he's another blonde.

Iris lets out a soft squeak at the hug. "Hi!" she manages to get out, suddenly feeling very shy but also enamoured of the baby. Her fingers twitch slightly with the urge to hold him. "You guys should, um... come in. Sit down! You must be tired."

She skips out of the way of the group, trying to find somewhere to stand where she won't hamper their movement. "Can I get you guys a drink or anything? Dinner is ready whenever you are!"

"Oh, I'm starving," John says as he takes Keaton in his arms.

Felicity moves into the living room, looking around before she turns to Jason. "I thought you had a dog and a goat..." She looks a little disappointed to not see them and Jason smiles.

"They're in the bedroom. Didn't want Alfredo jumping all over you and Keaton. Come on, you can visit them real quick." Jason squeezes Iris' arm and gives her a kiss on the cheek before he leads Felicity to the bedroom to meet Alfredo and Eric.

John bounces Keaton in his hands and turns to look at Iris with a knowing smile. "Wanna hold him?"

Her eyes go wide at the offer, practically sparkling with excitement. It's been forever since she's been allowed to hold a baby. Since her youngest cousin was one, at least. Iris holds out her hands tentatively. "Is it really okay?"

John laughs and holds Keaton out to Iris' outstretched arms. "It's more than okay. I figure you guys wanted to mostly see him anyway."

Jason and Felicity appear from the bedroom. Felicity moves to John's side, telling him how cute the goat is. Jason stops to admire the sight of Iris holding his nephew before he approaches them both, smiling at Iris. "You two look really cute together."

Iris takes the baby, cuddling him with a tiny squeal. She nuzzles the top of his head with a happy sigh. "He's still got that baby smell," she says, grinning up at Jason as he comes back in. Lifting a hand, she tickles under Keaton's chin, smile widening as he lets out a babbling giggle. "I'm going to keep him."

Jason leans down to look at Keaton, smiling as he giggles at Iris. He kisses the baby's cheek then looks back up at Iris. "I think his parents may have a problem with that."

"Naah... I'm sure they'll be fine with it, right?" she jokes, looking over at John and Felicity. "I'm sure he cries a ton and smells funny and you should just leave him here with me."

"What makes you think I wanna live with him if he does all that?" he teases. Keaton stares at Jason for a moment before he reaches out a little hand, tentatively touching his beard before he erupts in giggles. That makes Jason grin stupidly. "Oh god, okay we're keeping him."

"See?" she stage-whispers, grinning just as dumbly. "You distract them and I'll hide him, okay? They'll never suspect a thing."

"Ugh, deal. He's really cute." Keaton continues to play with Jason's beard before he turns his attention back to Iris, laying his head on her chest.

"He may be a bit sleepy," John suggests from the couch where he and Felicity have cuddled up. "He gets very cuddly when he's sleepy."

Iris bites her lip, letting out a quietly pained noise. Keaton is too cute and the snuggling is just throwing her over the edge.

"We bought a little cot so he can sleep while he's here..." she explains, gently rubbing his back. "And a few little presents too."

"Aw, did you really?" Felicity pipes up. "That was very sweet of you guys. If you can lay him down, he can have a nap while we eat. And then it'll be time for his dinner."

Keaton rubs his face in Iris' shirt, making small grumpy noises to let everyone know he's more than ready to take a nap. Jason's heart practically melts out of his chest at the sight and he places a hand on Iris' back, guiding her toward the bedroom. "I got the cot set up by the bed. The blanket you picked is there too."

Letting out a happy little sigh, Iris lays him down in the cot, carefully draping the blanket over him. "He's so cute," she sighs, taking Jason's hand and following him out of the room. Heading into the kitchen, she hands him plates and cutlery as she pulls the lasagne out of the oven and puts the apple pie in. "They must be so happy with him."

"He really is, isn't he?" Jason sets the table as Iris puts the finishing touches on dinner. He can't stop grinning since meeting his nephew. "If not, I'm taking him," he laughs. "Now I'm really hoping they let us give them the day off." He nudges Iris as he passes by to grab napkins, knowing full well she feels the same.

When the table is set, John and Felicity take a seat, admiring everything. "You two really have a nice place here. Maine seems like a beautiful place to live," Felicity offers.

She chuckles at that, following him out to the table and portioning out the lasagne.

"It really is. It's pretty perfect for us, I think. Close enough to the ocean for both our needs, nice weather, a good community, and everything is so lush and pretty," she sighs, taking her seat.

"Definitely better than Alaska," Jason adds as he sits next to Iris.

John rolls his eyes. "You're biased. I mean, understandably. But Alaska's gorgeous."

"And stupidly cold." Felicity shakes her head. "It kind of makes running a landscaping business difficult." She eats a forkful of lasagna and smiles, complimenting Iris on it. "So you like Keaton?" she asks with a sparkle in her eye, clearly switching subjects.

"Love him!" Iris sighs, warmth bubbling up in her chest at the thought of holding him. "He's so adorable. I don't know how you manage to put him down."
